Are there any EPC Exemption?

Some properties don’t need to have an Energy Performance Certificate. These are:

• Places of worship

• Temporary structures which have a planned use of less than 2 years

• Stand-alone properties with under 50m2 of useable floor space

• Properties which are due for demolition – with a demolition order in place

• Low energy demand properties such as agricultural barns

We recommend that you check with a specialist if you think that your property is exempt from the EPC requirement to ensure that you are definitely covered.
